2009 Spring Season
Welcome to the 2009 soccer season, we hope to have a great year with the help
of all our members. Over the past year we have made several improvements to our
fields and facility and we have many more planned. Just to let you know where
your fees are being spent, over the past year we have purchased 12 new goals,
reseeded and fertilized all of the fields, repainted the interior of the
concession stand and restrooms, new cabinetry will be in the concession stand
for the start of the season, purchased new soccer balls, and have recently
purchased a aerator to be used on the fields. Our newest field next to the new
parking lot in the front of our facility should be ready for play in the fall;
we would ask that until then please do not use this field for any reason so that
the turf has a chance to get well established. Our next project is to install
irrigation for the fields; we have been working on this for several months and
now have a finalized plan and cost. We will be working with the county and the
recreation department to make this happen and will keep you updated on the
progress.
The new Nelson County Youth Soccer Association board has been elected and is
listed with contact information on the link to the left of this page. If at
anytime you have a question or concerns please contact any board member and they
will lead you to the person you need to talk to. We have a wonderful group of
people that have volunteered and worked hard to help this league progress, but
we still need volunteers to fill the following positions,
U-16 COMMISIONER
U-12 COMMISIONER
PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMISIONER
If you would like to volunteer for one of the positions please contact a board
member. The more people we have involved the more we can accomplish for the
league.
If you would like to attend a board meeting for a specific concern please
contact Maureen Weir Secretary/Treasurer she will let you know when and where
the next meeting will be and add your concern to the agenda.
Sincerely,
Dan Weir
2009 Board President

NCYSA is Looking for Several Adult Referees
NCYSA is looking for several adults that are already referees or willing to become referees for the upcoming spring season. Usually in the spring because of the older kids playing competitive soccer we sometimes have trouble finding age appropriated referees for the older age group games. If you are already a certified referee and are willing to referees games please contact our referee commissioner, Chuck Russman at (502) 639-5009. If you are not certified and are interested in becoming a soccer referee go to KY Soccer Referee Association and click on "Recertification/Entry Level Courses" and then click on "District Three" to see when a course is being held so that you can become certified.
Being a referee for soccer games is a great way to earn some extra cash and also a great way to get some exercise. Click here to see our referee fees.
