We welcome yours!
St. Joseph Parish School 320 West Stephen Foster Avenue Bardstown, KY 40004
from Mr. Bill Edelen Dear Prospective Parent,
The process of choosing St. Joseph School for our children’s education began
well before they were born. My wife and I moved to Bardstown in 1996. We soon
joined St. Joseph Parish because of the quality liturgy at Sunday mass.
It may have been the annual Pancake Breakfast that first gave me a look inside
the school community. There I saw dedicated parents working hard to provide a
great breakfast as a fundraiser. Looking deeper, it was community-building in
progress, with parents getting to know each other and having fun while ensuring
the future of the school they had entrusted as a partner in the spiritual,
academic, social and emotional formation of their children.
Over the years we saw the school’s integral place in the life of the larger
parish and began to get to know more of the students and their families. The
families who provided daycare for our children were also St. Joseph parishioners
with children in the school.
It was by seeing these students - and the whole-family involvement of this
successful and vibrant community of faith and learning - that we came to what
was ultimately an easy decision. We were convinced that we, too, could entrust
our children to the caring and spirit-filled excellence of St. Joseph School –
just as we made this parish our place to experience and worship God.
My son Isaac is a second-grader, and daughter Claire is a preschooler. They are
both thriving and it is very gratifying to be able to say that our decision and
investment has been strongly affirmed. I am confident that St. Joseph’s could be
your family’s best choice as well. For more information contact the school and
arrange a visit.
And don’t forget the pancakes!
Sincerely,
Bill Edelen St. Joseph School Parent

from Ms. Paula Johnson
Dear Parent,
Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions we parents make
for our children. I am writing to share with you why we chose St Joseph
Parish School.
My family and I are not Catholic, but yet we have chosen a Catholic
school education for our son who is 12. We moved to Bardstown in June
2006, but prior to moving, we did a lot of research on the area schools.
We looked at the testing statistics and found St Joseph School was above
average when compared to the local area public schools.
One of our first experiences with the school was to meet with the
principal to discuss these statistics and what it meant for our son. The
principal and office staff were very helpful, friendly and informative.
We felt immediately comfortable with our decision to send our son to St.
Joseph.
Our son has been very well accepted into the St. Joseph School Family.
He was given a homework buddy who has helped him through the year. He
has excelled academically. The standards are set high, but achievable
due to the outstanding and dedicated teachers. Religious studies round
out our son’s education with a strong moral foundation.
Extracurricular activities abound. Our son is a member of the Academic
Team, Math Counts Team and the swim team. Supportive and dedicated
volunteer teachers coach all of the teams.
St Joseph Parish School has been a great choice for our son and our
family. I encourage you to call and visit the school.
Sincerely,
Paula Johnson
